Frequently asked questions
Thinkn builds and operates technology companies in joint venture with partners who know the market. Here are straight answers to the questions partners, governments and investors ask most.
About Thinkn
What is Thinkn?
Thinkn is an operating company that builds and operates technology businesses. It builds the technology that businesses and governments can't build themselves, in joint venture with partners who know the market.
Where is Thinkn based?
Thinkn is headquartered in Dubai. The registered entity is Thinkn Technologies Ltd., licensed in the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC License CL12246). The team works across Dubai, Europe and Africa.
Which markets does Thinkn work in?
Thinkn focuses on Africa, Asia and the Middle East, including the Gulf. These are markets where the right technology partner is hard to find and where local access decides whether a platform succeeds.
Who are Thinkn’s shareholders?
Thinkn’s shareholders are Ajeej Capital and Equiti. They bring access to financial markets, government stakeholders and institutional capital across Africa, Asia and the Gulf.
Who leads Thinkn?
Thinkn is led by its founder and CEO, Harib Bakhshi, who has over thirteen years in technology with deep expertise in AI, blockchain and enterprise software. Senior people lead every project.
How is Thinkn different from a consultancy or a software agency?
A consultancy or agency sells hours and hands over a deliverable. Thinkn co-owns the business it builds. It holds equity, runs operations and shares in the outcome, so it only wins when the joint venture wins.
The joint venture model
How does a Thinkn joint venture work?
Every Thinkn business starts with three things: a market that needs technology, a partner with access to it, and a platform that holds together at scale. Thinkn brings the team, the technology and the operating discipline. The partner brings the network, the relationships and the path to market. Both sides are owners.
What does the partner bring to a joint venture?
The partner brings what technology alone cannot: market access, regulatory authority, distribution or capital.
What does Thinkn bring to a joint venture?
Thinkn brings the engineers, designers and operators who build and run the platform. The team, the platform and the engineering decisions all sit inside Thinkn. There is no outsourced delivery and no handoffs.
Does Thinkn work for a fee?
Thinkn works for equity, not invoices. Every Thinkn business is a joint venture in which Thinkn holds equity and shares in the outcome.
How many joint ventures does Thinkn take on?
Thinkn takes on a small number of joint ventures each year, so each one gets a senior team building directly.
Who is a good fit to partner with Thinkn?
Operators with access to a market that needs technology and the intent to build something that lasts. Thinkn also works with governments and institutions that want a direct technology partner, and with capital partners who back future joint ventures.
Technology and delivery
How fast can Thinkn deliver?
Most enterprise software takes years to build and longer to deploy. Thinkn takes national-scale systems from contract to live in months, and smaller ventures move faster. In Zimbabwe, the national carbon registry was signed, built and launched by the President inside a year.
What kind of technology does Thinkn build?
Thinkn builds digital platforms for governments and enterprises: registries and marketplaces, financial infrastructure, workflow and process automation, data pipelines, identity management, API integrations and AI. The engineering covers cloud infrastructure, smart contracts and scalable architecture.
Does Thinkn outsource development?
No. Thinkn employs the engineers, designers and operators behind every venture, and senior people lead every project.
Does Thinkn work with governments?
Yes. Thinkn builds sovereign infrastructure with governments. Its first government deployment is the national carbon registry of Zimbabwe, built through A6 Labs.
A6 Labs and carbon markets
What is A6 Labs?
A6 Labs is a Thinkn business that builds sovereign carbon market infrastructure. It gives governments the technology to operate their own national carbon registries under Article 6 of the Paris Agreement.
What does the A6 Labs platform include?
A public blockchain registry for real-time market transparency, an integrated platform for project developers, auditors and buyers, a government administration portal for regulatory oversight, and a public information portal that gives participants access to market information.
What was built in Zimbabwe?
In partnership with the government of Zimbabwe and the Zimbabwe Carbon Markets Authority, A6 Labs launched the world’s first fully blockchain-integrated national carbon registry in 2025. Over two million carbon credits have been issued and tracked on the blockchain, twelve credit issuances have been completed on-chain with corresponding adjustments applied, and credit value tripled after the registry launched.
Where will A6 Labs launch next?
The registry is scheduled to launch across multiple African nations in 2026, with five or more national deployments planned.
